Behind the Neck Shoulder Press Dangerous or Worth it?

You will find lot of body builders and gym rats still doing behind the neck shoulder press with a barbell. Compared to the the front version this behind the neck version puts lot of strain on the neck and can lead to shoulder impingement. Some swear that the behind the neck shoulder press hits the medial delts better than the front version of the exercise. The barbell shoulder press behind the neck is a dangerous exercise for most people. You are better off doing the barbell shoulder press to the front and doing side laterals to hit the medial delts. What do you think too dangerous or worth it?
